Contrasts + -

We can see little shoots coming up from the ground!  I am so excited for summer to come!  The ice is melting~ the trees are getting buds~ Robins are here~ we can go out barefoot sometimes~ all the beautiful signs of spring!

For every sunset there is a sunrise, For every winter comes a spring, For every word in anger spoken ~ There's joy and gladness kind words bring.

-For every raindrop there's a sunbeam, For every tear a lovely smile, For every storm a promise given ~ This too shall pass in just awhile.

Life's made of contrasts, sweet and bitter, And into each life both must fall; But, be it trial or  be it blessing we know God's hand is in it all.

If life were always bright and happy would we then seek help from above, Or know the joy when breaks the morning with rain bowed skies of hope and love.

Prayer request

Update:
Two of the children are discharged, along with the dad. Of the others, one had surgery to reconstruct her femur, and another had surgery on his face. The other girl was discharged, but she is vomiting and they can't figure out what is wrong, so she is back in the ER. Pray that they would be able to find the problem and do something about it. Thank you all!

A car crash happened to some people we know and I would like to ask you to pray for them. It happened yesterday afternoon. They were driving somewhere, when the car in front of them spun out, and they hit it head on. They had 5 of there 8 children in the car, along with the mom and dad. All of them had an injury. Mrs. Robbe has two broken ankles, and a collapse lung, Mr. Robbe has a broken wrist, Rachel and Caleb each have a broken collar bone, Caleb also has bad seat belt cuts. Hanna has a broken femur, there younger daughter might have internal bleeding, and the youngest person in there family lost their front teeth (thank God he was not too young or he might have died). That's about it, keep them in your prayers.

Banana Muffins~recipe

The other day I made some banana muffins, they turned out pretty good!  I made them nice and small so they made a perfect snack for Bright Lights.

 Banana Bread Muffins:

Mix together thoroughly:
  • 2/3 C. sugar
  • 1/3 C. soft shortening
  • 2 eggs
Stirr in:
  • 3 T. milk
  • 1 C. mashed bananas (two is fine)
Sift together and stir in:
  • 2 C. flour
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. soda
  • 1/2 t. salt
Blend in:
  • 1/2 C chopped nuts
Pour into well-greased 9x5 loaf pan, or muffin tins.  Let stand 20 min. before baking.  Bake at 350 For 50-60 min.

Our family makes homemade bread~ *delicious*, well, a few months ago I was making a loaf for dinner.  I finished putting all the ingredents in the pan, put it in the bread machine, and started it up.  It wasn't long before I heard a sloshing noise coming from the bread machiene, and thought I had better see what was wrong since it didn't usually make that noise.  I opened the bread machiene and beleive it or not I had forgotten the flour!

What is your most funny cooking mistake?

Little Things~Big Blessings

Take time to "Count your blessings"  Many times we forget how enjoyable these little things in life are when we get caught up in school, work, and all the other activities that clutter our days.  Today, take time to enjoy and pay attention to the little "love letters" that God sends you, what do you enjoy most?  Thank God for that today!

"From the fullness of grace we have received one blessing after another” - John 1:16

Mirae is very small, yet such a blessing to our family!  Her smiles, cries, giggles, everything about her is a joy!

Drawing! I didn't know that I could draw until the other day when Noela asked me to draw here horse.  Now, I love drawing and already have quite a few pictures.

Going barefoot is so wonderful!  As soon as the snow melts enough we all take off our shoes and enjoy the "warm" weather!

God's word is one of the most refreshing things I know of.  If you are struggling with staying pure, being patient, listing to authority, or are just exploding with joy about something, go to God's Holy, Magnificent Word!  You can't find more peace in anything else.

2 Timothy 3:16~ "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works, and increasing in the knowledge of God."

Photography is another one of my favorite things to do.  I love going around our yard and capturing the beauty of God's Creation with my camera.

What are your favorite things to do?  Have you been thanking God for what He has given you for your enjoyment?  Look around for "Love letters" from God, you will be surprised by what you find!

Sunsets!

There have been lots of beautiful sunsets around here lately! God's handiwork is absolutely beautiful!

My dear sister Haley taught me how to use the template designer today. I had done a little with it, but didn't know how much you could do with it!

Pretty soon I will be posting some pictures of our wonderful spring which has finally "peeked around the corner"!

Psalm 118:24    "This is the day the Lord has made!"
Psalm 19:1   "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim his handiwork."

3 Months old!

Mirae is growing so fast!  She can hold her head up, smile, laugh, and is just starting to push up with her legs!  I love my little sister so much!

I don't know what I would do without her now!
