Are you thankful for what the Lord has given you?  Sometimes I forget to praise Him for all He does for me, even the small little blessings such as a beautiful sunset are from Him.  Thank Him!  Over at Altogether Separate they are giving away a book to remind us to give thanks in all things.  Go over and check it out here.

"I will magnify Him with thanksgiving."

Thoughts

What are your first thoughts of the day? What do you think about even before you sit up in bed? Do your thoughts turn to things above? Do you wonder how you can bless God and others that day?

What about throughout the day? Do you keep your mind on things above, or shift to other worldly thoughts? When you are doing a job you don't particularly like, do you do it for His glory and as a blessing to others or is your attitude canceling out the blessing you could be?

What if your pastor read his Bible as often as you?  Would he be fit to be in charge of God's church?

I have a hard time keeping my thoughts focused on God and His work. Recently I have been asking myself these questions throughout the day as well as focusing on several scriptures.  God can do wondrous works in our lives and others, if we are doing tasks small, and large for His glory.

"So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God."  Cor. 10:31

A book for all!

History, science, romance, biographies, adventure, health, doctrine, government, marriage, courtship, comfort, bedtime stories, child training, all in one! A classic for all ages!  The Bible, one of the oldest classics around, is probably among the most well known books, but sadly, not the most read.  It is well loved by some, hated by others, for still others, it is just a Christmas time story book.

Psalms 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

Song of Solomon 8:7 Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

Verses from Genesis 24~
And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. For she had said unto the servant, "What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us?" And the servant had said, "It is my master": therefore she took a vail, and covered herself. And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done. And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

Joshua 6:20-21When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. They devoted the city to the LORD...

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Romans 13:1-2 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Psalm 18:2 - The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Happy Birthday Mom!!

I have a wonderful mom!  She is always working, playing, teaching, or ministering to someone.  Through all our petty sibling arguments, she prays for guidance on how to teach us to treat each other in a Christ like way.  When we are having a hard time with school, she explains until we finally understand.  Waking up early in the morning, to say goodbye to dad when he leaves for work and staying up till 11:30 pm, when Mirae falls asleep.

I know it has been hard on all of us to move after being in the same house for 16 years, especially hard on mom. Yet, she has toughed it out.  Scheduling the countless inspections, insulation services, roofing company estimates, painting and stripping wall paper.  Every job around the house, big or small, she does them all for Christ and her family.  Thank you mom!!!!  Happy birthday!

A Christ-honoring homemaker who is industrious and is about the business of serving her King is worth far more than money can buy. Her worth is far above rubies. She is working to build Christ's Kingdom! When done unto the Lord, wiping noses, cleaning up spilled milk, and speaking wisdom into the lives of children is the kind of work that lasts forever and ever. That is one thing the world will never understand, try as they might; you just can't place a dollar value on something as noble and beautiful as homemaking. A Corner Pillar
Read the rest of this article here!  It really encouraged me to start preparing to be a homemaker and to realize how much I should be thankful to my mom!

Working,
Playing,

Ministering,
Yesterday was really mom's birthday.  She spent the day cleaning and helping us get ready for our Bright Lights meeting.  What better example of servant leadership can you find?!
