In four months~

You can't believe how fast babies grow up.  Mirae is almost sitting up on her own, she laughs, has tears when she cries, I can't believe that just four months ago she was not even borne!  Our lives are just a vapor, we must use them for God and cherish what He gives us.

* Nine months in the womb *
Psalm 127:3-5 "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."

~ My Little Sister ~

I hold her tight and sing "Silent Night", as I rock my little sister. She opens her eyes and similes, her pink cheeks get round and tight, as I rock my little sister.

She reaches up her chubby hand to try to pull off my nose and ears, as I rock my little sister.  I tickle her cheek, her eyes turn bright with happiness!  She laughs her precious laugh, as I rock my little sister.

Little feet bang against my chest, little toes get tangled in my hair!  As I rock my little sister.

I rub her pudgy legs, she closes her eyes in satisfaction.  As I rock my little sister.

Her head snuggles down in the crook of my arm.  I pet her head with baby hair so soft and fuzzy.  As I rock my little sister.

I wrote that poem when my little sister Noela was going to be borne.  I was 12 years old.  For awhile when I was younger I wrote quite a few poems, they aren't the best, but I had fun writing them!

Four months old!

Should Christians be reading secular magizines?

Should Christians be reading secular magazines?  Secular magazines are often not Christ like and can be very harmful depending on what it is. There are many magazines that could be called " not too bad," but are still not biblical. Christ said in, Romans 12:2; "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

How  much time are you spending on things of this world?  Try to spend at least 10 minutes that you would usually spend Tweeting, Facebooking, blogging :), reading magazines, or watching TV, on God's Word.  ~ "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly"~ Col. 3:16   "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."~ Ephesians 6:17

More Spring Pictures

Spring is slowly pushing up through the ground!  I love how you can see the bark being pushed up in this picture as the hyacinth comes up.

This year is already full for our family,  we have a few upcoming family dance performances, our next one is in Indiana.

When I was out in our back yard taking these pictures I saw this little robin.  He was so cute!  I took quite a few pictures of him.

Carnations

We were given many beautiful flowers from our friends at Brigadoon.  I was so happy to have a sunny day that I could go out and get some pictures of them.  The lighting was so perfect it looks like I enhanced the brightness in the pictures!

I would like to say, "Thank you!" to all my faithful blog readers.  I know that I don't have the best blog, but you faithfully leave comments to brighten my day!

Thank God for Flowers!

Thank God for flowers of every hue,
From baby-pink roses to plumbago blue.
The fragrance of jasmine enhances the night,
And each water lily is a pearly delight.
Magnolias by moonlight bring sweet memories
As springtime awakens the blossoming trees.
The common hibiscus brings uncommon joy,
And shy violets are bashful and coy.
Long-stemmed red roses are reasons to sing,
And the frost-covered crocus usher in Spring.
Lavender orchids decorate the prom,
And pastel carnations pay tribute to Mom.
Flowers bring comfort to pauper and king,
For one cannot measure the pleasure they bring,
From Easter-white lilies to plumbago blue.
Thank God for flowers of every hue!

Your comfort gives me joy.

Summer and winter ~ combat!

I woke up Sunday morning to find snow on the ground :(  I had just been thinking that it would be warming up soon.  Well, it was a wonderful time to take pictures!

"Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near"  Matthew 24:32

We weren't going to let the snow make us put on shoes! Spring is still here! There is a battle between Spring, Summer, and Winter.
God is in charge of the weather!~
Psalm 97:4 "His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled."
Job 37:3 "He directeth ... his lightning unto the ends of the earth."

We did some pet sitting for our aunt and uncle a few weeks ago.  Their puppy is really cute and I greatly enjoyed taking pictures of her.   I haven't done much photography of animals, but I think that they turned out pretty good.   I was having a hard time not getting a shadow behind her.  Do you have any advice for taking pictures of animals, or not getting shadows?

Mirae is already getting so big.  I can't believe that she is already 4 months old and rolling over.  She can hold up her head really well and enjoys people talking to her.  This morning Mirae was laughing and enjoying me playing patty-cakes with her!

Candles are so pretty~  For a few days my bedroom light was burned out so I used a candle.  It was sort of fun to have to light it every time I needed a light in my room instead of just turning on the switch, but I am glad that I don't have to do it all the time!

Psalm 18:28-30 ~ "For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him."

Our family has a performance tonight at a church we would appreciate prayers that God would use us to bring others closer to Himself.  And through our scripture recitations others would be encouraged to memorize also.

How is the weather where you live?  It is getting warmer here and I am happy to say that we have violets and hyacinths blooming in the yard!  I am still planning on posting the pictures I took of them the other day.  Also, just a random question, what is your favorite Bible verse?  Mine is I Peter 3:15 "1 Peter 3:15~ "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear"

happenings of late

Since I last posted many things have happened in my life.  I must ask you to forgive me for not posting lately, but it was nearly impossible seeing that the last week of March and the first week of April were completely filled with classes and rehearsals for Brigadoon, the musical Haley and I were in.

Teen Pact is an amazing government class and worth every cent that it costs to go.  This is what filled up my last week of March.

Teen Pact Is~ Student Leadership~ they teach their students to be leaders and not just sit behind the scenes, A hands-on government class~ we spent four days at the capitol and were able to interview some of the staff and lobbyists who were there, Ultimate Frisbee, prayer walks at your Capitol, and much more!

Their goal~
"A distinctive of Teens Pact is our focus on training young people not just in politics, but in spiritual leadership, character development and personal excellence. One way we accomplish this goal is by offering opportunities for outstanding alumni to serve as staff for various Teen Pact events. Teen Pact Staff are given hands-on experience in servant leadership, coordinating logistics, leading a small group, responsibility and spiritual discipleship."

I had a wonderful time at this four day class at our capitol.  I grew extravagantly in my walk with the Lord when I started our the first day of class I never thought that I would enjoy and learn so much in the coming week.  I greatly encourage you to look into this class and see if it is in your state.  Go to: Teen Pact's website  Even if you can't go to a Teen Pact class, or would like a taste of their material before going, a wonderful book to read written by Tim Echols, the founder of Teen Pact, is "Real Citizenship."

I am sorry that I don't have any pictures up yet of Brigadoon, but I promise that they will be coming soon.  I also have been out in the yard a lot and took MANY pictures of the beautiful spring days that are now here!
