Yellow Flowers and a Testimony

I just have to share this wonderful testimony, I am so grateful to God for working everything out so perfectly! Our Bright Lights group meets every first and third Monday so when there is an extra Monday in a month (like November) sometimes a few girls get confused. Yesterday we had three girls come though it was an off week, to the first two we explained what had happened and they left, but as they were driving away dad said, "Oh! If only we would have thought a little sooner, we could have had them do a skit!"

 Not much later another girl showed up, this time she couldn't leave because her mom had already left. Usually the moms would come and check if they had come the right night if they don't see anyone else coming up the driveway, but because the two Realtors we had coming over were coming up the drive at the same time she thought it must be the right night and left.

 

Just the night before we had been discussing the next meeting as a family, and wanted to invite someone over to do a skit for the next meeting. I mentioned having a certain girl over because she is so good at drama and loves to perform. It happened to be the exact girl that came last night! God is great! We came up with a skit together and are all really excited to do it on Monday!

Please Pray A Witnessing Story~

I thought that you would be interested to hear about the time that my family and some friends had witnessing to some homeless people on Sat.

Saturday the 23 at 2:15, (yes the time and date are important) my family went out with some friends to a group of homeless people that live by our house. One of the moms had already met the community so was able to get us acquainted with the people very quickly! We brought them some food, blankets, and warm clothes. After delivering our donations we started a nice conversation about their lives, we presented the wordless bridge and asked if they had excepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, of course as most people do they said, "Yes". We kept talking, and asked if Deborah (one of the ladies) would like us to pray for her, she answered, "No" and said that she had put God on the "back burner" for awhile. We explained that you would go to hell if you died with Christ on the "back burner" and you never know when you will die "you could die tonight!" She seemed to slightly understand and agreed that we could pray for her. We said our good-byes and went home.

Today I got a call from our grandma who we had told about our time with the homeless. She said that a newspaper article told the sad story of Saturday the 23 at 9:15 a fire had broken out in their homeless camp, two men died. One lady lost all she had. I thought that this was an amazing story; God must have really wanted those people to hear the Gospel He must have wanted us to be there that day to shine His light before they died. I am just praying that those two men got to read some of the Gospel tracts that we left for them.

Please keep that community of homeless people in your prayers.

This is a great book, it is very encouraging!  Can you guess what you can't do in heaven?......  Witness!  There won't be anyone to witness to in heaven!  I greatly encourage you to buy this book if you need a boost to help you get out and witness.   Right now I am reading it with my dad each night before we go to bed we read a few pages together!  The best thing about the book, is that it has a lot of fun stories about his witnessing experiences.

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ"

Yesterday we had a great time witnessing! There were 7 people that showed up. The weather was much better this time, so there were a few more people at the park than last time : -)! We altogether witnessed to eleven different groups. I have heard people who go out witnessing say that it is addicting, I now agree with them 100%! Every time that I go out witnessing I realize more, and more that it is God who I am bringing glory to. It doesn't matter what the people think of me, I will probably never see them again anyway!

 It is a very good way to grow in your faith and understand it better.  Before I ever went out witnessing, I thought that I would have to memorize all the different arguments, for everything. After a while, I realized that I would never get out and do it if I kept on "preparing". If you just go out and share your faith, you will see what kind of questions people are going to ask and be able to study those topics.

My own Vacation Bible School!

The other day we were out playing with the little neighborhood children, first the game was a work camp, then a school, then I changed it into a Bible school!    We asked the children what they thought they had to do to get to heaven, all of them had the wrong answer, so we explained that it wasn't the good works that get you to heaven, but excepting God as your personal savior.  All of them wanted to pray to except Christ, so we prayed as a group then me and my brothers, Vince and Grant worked as councilors for those who wanted to know more.  I think that a few of them are quite serious about their new faith, we passed out Bibles and are becoming one big family of God's Children!

I can already see the difference in their lives, a few of the children were expert liars, they have already stopped being untruthful and saying bad words!

The counseling groups went very well.  Hunter is very excited and is the one who wants me to do it every day!

We have had the meeting two days in a row now,  and I am planning on doing it with all the children that want to every day I can!  I am planning on going through the topics that Bright Lights covers and using it as a format for my lessons.

An encouraging story about witnessing...

Recently my sister, and I went out witnessing with some friends. We split off into two groups and went our separate ways to share the good news! The first group of people, that my group went up to didn’t want anything to do with us, but we couldn’t give up there so we went on to some other people, who were very happy to listen! We ended up witnessing to 8 different groups.  One of whom we got to pray with to except Christ! I had a wonderful time and can’t wait to go out again!

A Witnessing Story from Last Easter....

After the Easter party last year, Mom, Haley, Noela, and I went on a walk. As we were walking to the park we were trying to decide whether to go into the park, or on a trail that was across the road. After a little discussing, we decided to go on the trail first, then into the park.

Not long after we entered the trail, we noticed two people with their baby sitting on a bench. When we got near them, Mom said “Hello, isn’t it a nice day for a walk?”
We started talking and found out that they had gone over to the lady’s Grandma’s house to celebrate Easter. They weren’t even married and had a messed up family. Kirsten was the girl, Brian was her boyfriend, and they had a baby--Elizabeth.

After a little while, they got up and started to walk with us down the path and talk to us. I asked Mom if she wanted to give them an IQ card from Living Waters. Kirsten liked it a lot and said she would give it to her grandma, who went to Trinity (a church down the road) with her and her little girl Elizabeth. Mom asked Brian if he went to Trinity too. He said, “No, I am atheist.” Right away Haley and I looked at each other and wished that we had some atheist tests. He said, “The way I figure it, we all end up six feet under the ground.” Kirsten said, “You’re not going to keep me and Elizabeth from going to church.” Mom asked, “Why did you decide to be an atheist? Then Brian said, “Well, I believe in God. I won’t keep them from going to church but I won’t go.” Mom said, “But it won’t hurt you to go, so think about going. Your body will go six feet under, but your soul won’t, and if you believe in God then you should care.” His girlfriend said, “I would rather go to be with my creator.” He said, “My spirit will haunt people when I die.” Then I said “Yes, and your soul will go to hell and hell is for eternity even after the world ends hell will never go, you will be there for ever if you don’t have God in your life!” He said “Honey, I’ll tell you what, I will be kicked out of hell! I’m so bad, I will take over hell.”

Then we decided to recite the pieces of John 20 that Haley and I knew. Kirsten thought that it was amazing. After that, we came to the end of the trail and Mom asked if we could pray with them, They answered yes, but during the prayer I think that Brian was trying not to hear and just play with his little girl. Then I said to him “you know what? No matter how bad your sins are God will forgive you.” He just walked away and since the girl had said that they wanted to get married, Mom explained how important it was to have a Christian spouse.

We said good-by and walked back down the path praying for them.
I thought that it was amazing how in the first place we weren’t even going that way on a walk. God must have wanted us to meet them! So please pray for: Kirsten, Brian, and their little girl Elizabeth who was 14 months.

Witnessing story!

We did a chalk art class at our house a few weeks ago. We bought the home study DVDs from Eternity Arts and invited some friends over to have a class together. Building the practice easels was a good family project!

I have a fun witnessing story that I thought you would like to hear!

The day before, we needed the black light for the chalk art class that we were doing. I went with Dad, Mom, Vince, and Noela to the store to get the supplies that we needed for black light the next day. We were also going to Meijers to buy Vince a swimming mask.

As we drove into the parking lot I noticed a bus stop with a group of very sad, quiet looking people waiting for the bus to come. I said, "We should go to that bus stop." Dad answered, "Yes we should witness to those people, see how sad they look." Almost nobody was talking, they all looked very sad, everyone was just sitting there with nothing to do. We drove the van to the front of the store and dropped Vince and Dad off to buy the mask. Then Mom drove me over to the bus stop. I said, " Are we really going to do it?" She answered, " Let's just think, first we should pray for them." So we prayed, then Mom said, " Get at least 10 $1.00 dollar bills, and put one in each track. When you hand the person the track say, ' Here is something for you to read and money for your bus fair.' " I was asking Mom to please go with me because I was scared, but I knew that I would be so glad that I had done it when I was done.

We got out of the van and started to walk toward the closest person, I stepped up and said what Mom had told me to with a big smile. He looked with a very surprised face and said, "Thank you!" I did this to each person and every one sat up with smiles and started to share them with their friends. As we walked away, all seven people were reading and laughing!

The man and some girls waved goodbye, as we drove to pick up Dad and Vince.

It was amazing to see how just a little thing like that could make their day! It made mine too, just think seven more souls hearing about Jesus!

We have been reading the book called, "One Thing You Can't do in Heaven." I have learned a lot from reading the interesting examples and stories.

Since then I have already done it a few more times, and gotten a lot more excited about witnessing!
