"The Land of the Free..."

July 4th, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed.  This is a significant part of our Nation's history, it was the time when all ties with Britain were served and the thirteen colonies became The United States of America.  It took war, bravery, love for God, and love for our country, for these men to write, sign and fight for freedom.  Today is a day that gets lost in the excitement of family picnics, fireworks, and vacations.  We tend to forget what God did through these men, and many others for our freedom today.

"This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave." ~Elmer Davis

Be a brave witness for Christ, He is the best thing for our country! "There are several kinds of freedom.  The one that we usually think of first is political freedom.  But the most important kind is spiritual freedom-spiritual peace with God for eternity.  This freedom had the same price-blood.  But because the war was of a different nature and there was a different enemy, the blood required to pay our penalty was that of the Son of God Himself.  And He willingly gave His blood for us.  God placed Himself in a body that was able to die so that He might take our place and die for our sin.  We can now be saved from eternal death by honoring Jesus Christ, the one who paid the price.  Let it be true that "In God We Trust"! " (Taken from a gospel tract our family passes out at fireworks around the 4th. of July)
